As Fall approaches, we need to turn our attention to our semi-annual Stevens Greenland Cemetery workday. This year we are scheduled for 8:30 Saturday, Oct 3 with a rain date of October 24. In addition to the usual weedwhacking etc, we have been asked to focus on weed spraying around the headstones and in the prayer circle. We have also been asked to move the bird boxes to the perimeter as apparently, the birds have been pretty territorial and harassing the workers.
Volunteers should come with good work gloves, a couple of weedwhackers and, if possible, a quantity of ground clear weed killer. I would appreciate it if I could get some idea who will be bringing the ground clear and how much. Also, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or other ideas.
